Announcement of the Chairman of the Board of the Canada-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce

The Canada-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of M. Roger Légaré as the organization’s Chairman of the Board. M. Légaré brings to the position a wealth of knowledge and an array of experiences that he has diligently gathered throughout his outstanding career.

The Canada-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of M. Roger Légaré as the organization's Chairman of the Board. M. Légaré brings to the position a wealth of knowledge and an array of experiences that he has diligently gathered throughout his outstanding career.


Mr. Légaré has over 50 years of experience, including more than 25 years in government affairs. He was a key player involved in the growth and success as a senior manager at Bell Canada, the Government of Canada, the University of Ottawa, the National Capital Commission, Canada Post and the Infrastructure Council, to name a few.


Mr. Légaré is also president of the MGR Arthur Deschênes Foundation and has been instrumental in raising millions for environmental, mental health, and oncology research.


In addition, he chaired the Canadian Organization for Education Development, touring all of West Africa to facilitate the acquisition of educational material.


He was also the Canadian Commissioner for Employment Insurance of Canada, to which all Chambers of Commerce in Canada reported.


Mr. Légaré sat on several committees such as the Richelieu-International Foundation, the University of Ottawa, the Ottawa University Circle, the Montfort Hospital, the Children's Hospital Foundation of Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.


In 2017, he received the medal of the National Assembly of Quebec in honour of his involvement in the financing and construction of the Place de l'Unité de Montréal, which underlines a powerful union focused on openness and dialogue between different religious denominations.
